Remodeling Ups and Downs

Everyone Said: Remodeling is not easy...
Ro: Of course it is. I think it'll be fun.
THE TRUTH: It SUCKS!

Everyone: You'll spend more money so budget accordingly.
Ro: My excel spreadsheet and budgeting is immaculate.
THE TRUTH: How about underestimating by 10k?

Everyone: It'll be dusty in your house!
Ro: I'll put up Barriers
THE TRUTH: My lungs are filled with sawdust =(

My life has been in shambles since last Saturday. Neil and I have been living in a construction zone for a week now and its not easy as I had hoped it would be. Today is Monday and its a big day. The flooring (carpet & hardwood) installation begins. The kitchen is finally complete and I absolutely love it. Our Pantry kicks ass. The new appliances are killer. I'm just really glad I dont have to eat out again. I have a lot more work being done today so I took the day off. All my plumbing is getting replaced with newer stuff and the granite countertops are going in my bathroom. Neil and I spent ALL DAY packing up everything in our house in boxes. It seriously feels like we're moving but we're not. Our balcony is jam packed with everything in our house. I can't wait until Oct 15! That last day of all this (i hope)....

Also, poor Rocco has surgery today on his teeth. Peezy went with him and he'll be getting Xrays of his 2 front legs. We think he has a birth defect in his front legs so we want to get it checked out. They are both getting anistheshia today and I miss them already! I can't wait to pick up the boys tonight!

My sister was in town this weekend from LA LA land. We had a great time on Saturday. We took Shya, Rocco and Peezy to a new dog park and met up with Jenn and Carlos and Chuco! Later we took the doggies to los gatos to buy them halloween costumes. Shya found the CUTEST lady bug costume. I didnt have luck finding anything but the search is just beginning.

Talk about lucky sons of bitches, if you didn't get a chance to see the Spartan's nearly dominate the Hawaii Rainbow pansies, then you missed one heck of a game. ( picture slideshow courtesy of the SJ Mercury News ) The game began at 5pm and the weather was crap... rain was pouring and the fans were a few... that was until the sun came out and the fans began arriving, reaching to 20,000+ packing the Spartan stadium. ESPN packed the house in the press-box, scouts were hovering around the media stations, trying to find a good seat and stadium workers ran around the stands wiping down seats so people's rears could remain dry. The Hawaii Rainbow Pansies were the talk of football and everyone was expecting SJSU to lose and to lose big. The spread for the game had Hawaii favored by 20+ points. thug night...pack up your eggs baby!

I updated this story.. so if you read it. Reread it. I missed some very important points. ******************************************************************************** What seemed like a normal Tuesday night .. turned out to be quite interesting. First off, I got home lastnight from work before Neil. I was working from home when Neil got home and said let's take the dogs for a walk and grab coffe and go to the grocery store.. Good Ole Zanatto's. We got the dogs dressed and heade d out. After grabbing coffee and groceries, we start heading back home. The walk home is about 3 blocks but we pass many bars and many thugs on our route home. lastnights thug count was out of control. We were walking towards blockbuster/farenheight on San Fernando when we walk past a group of teenagers... about 10 of them. They seemed nice... One of the boys calls Rocco over. Keep in mind i have 2 dogs on leashes with one hand and I'm juggling 2 coffees in my other hand while Neil is lugging 2 ...

Football Widow 2010

Its Football Friday at the Parry House again. For those that don't know, my hubbie is the defensive coordinator for the Sobrato High School Football Team. They are so far 2-1 (Ugh that loss still hurts) and they are ready to play again tonight against Independence High school in San Jose. Here's their entire upcoming schedule The game should be good and if the boys come out to play, they should get the BIG W! Let's go BullDogs! A common terminology used by woman married to men that coach football is that during football season you are a football widow. It is NO JOKE. I thought that football was time consuming when Neil played back at SJSU but NOW, its CRAZY!! Coaching is a very time consuming job, especially if you are super into it like my husband is. Practice M-F afternoon/evening, games friday nights and football planning half the day on a SUNDAY!! With 2 boys at home with me, its super hard because Neil is so tied up with football!! I love love love football season ...
