Ravishing Rain
What a beautiful Sunday. After sleeping in until 10:30am I woke up to see my balcony being attacked by big droplets of rain. I love rain. I heard the weather in the Bay was pretty nice all week, I guess this is my welcoming home. I spent most of my week in Lake Tahoe with the fam. This year was a lot of fun and filled with lots of good times. Nothing can replace your family and spending time with them is something I cherish and appreciate like no other. I had such a great time relaxing and bonding with everyone. It was also fun getting to spend time with Shya and watching her play with Peezy. They are so cute together. I was in Tahoe from Wed-Sat. I was suppose to be there Tuesday but due to school, work and a late sister, we got a late start...
Neil, Jo, Rocco, Peezy, Shya and I left San Jose at around 1am early wed. morning. It was kind of crazy to leave so late but all of us are night riders to it was all good. We got to the cabin at 5am. It was nice because we knew that we were gonna be able to sleep in and just relax for the next few days.
We woke up Wed. morning and my sister, mom, Aryana and I took the doggies for a good walk around the neighborhood. It hadn't snowed in a week so it was slightly sunny and a good time to take the kiddo's out. The rest of the day was spent lounging, cooking, eating, playing games and watching movies. It was seriously a relaxing day and I loved every minute of it. Thanksgiving was just a day away and we knew that we should take advantage of a day with no MAJOR plans.
Thursday came sooner then I realized. I got up Thursday morning to see the fam in the kitchen starting on the fixings for the dinner. It had also snowed on Wed. night so when I woke up, everything was covered with white. It was beautiful. While some of the family cooked, some watched football and a few of us girls took the dogs out again for a walk in the snow. This was Peezy & Shya's first time in snow so they were really funny stepping in it for the first time. Rocco had to show them how its done. We got back inside the house just in time for the Dallas Cowboys game. My family and I are HUGE HUGE cowboy fans and every year we get to watch our boys play on T-day. This year was especialy special because not only are the Cowboys dominating, my boy TO is on the team. =)~
Almost everyone made a dish for thanksgiving dinner. Its a way to give thanks and be a part of our huge dinner. As the game was winding down, we set the table for dinner and lit the candles and all sat around for an amazing feast. The table looked amazing. We sat around and some people in my fam like my grandmother, mom and uncle gave a lil speech and it was salut and off to grubbing. I WAS SOOOOOO STUFFED I can't even tell you guys. The food tasted so good, especially the candied spinach salad. My favorite. Not to mention the yummy yams. i love yams but they are not fun on the tummy. Did you guys know that Yams are really versatile? I thought they only gave you major gas but did you know that it is believed by some that yams can stimulate the ovaries to produce a balance of progesterone and estrogen, making it a popular alternative to synthetic hormones for women who experience symptoms of PMS or menopause. In some parts of the world, yams are used as a sexual tonic for men. Who knew!!
On Thanksgiving night, we decided to all gather round the TV for a night of Grey's anatomy. Everyone in my family is hooked on that show and Thursday night's episode was a definite shocked. WHAT WAS CHRISTINA THINKING? I feel so bad for Dr. Burke.o So so bad. Once we all gave our tummies sometime to deflate, it was time to sing Happy Birthday to my mommy and Nini. We brought out two mini-cakes for them. They were delicious! They unwrapped their gifts and slowly, we called it a night.
