Get Your Sexy Name

LA sucks

Maybe I should have stayed home tonight. But I didn't. Wanna know why? Because Neil and I decided to get tickets to see the Sharks play the Anaheim Ducks. We had amazing.. I mean AMAZING tickets 9 rows from the ice right in the middle of all the action, in the Comerica Club Section. I was sooo into the game and lovin' it. I'm seriously a hockey fan now. I even came up with a new hockey term that everyone's going to start using... In NFL football, I have a tendency to yell "Butterfingers!" when someone drops the ball, its so funny... so tonight, since there are no hands in hockey I decided to come up with a new term, one of the Sharks players hit the puck with his stick but it slipped and I yelled "ButterStick!!" out really loud, forgetting how close we were to the team. Let's just say that after that loud outburst, everyone around me started laughing and Neil started slouching down in his seat, embarrassed by my loud mouth. Whatever... that sayi...

Oscar the grouch

Image
I joined millions of people around the world last night and watched a 4 hour Oscar marathon. At times it was good, at times it was slow and there were even some times when I had to fast forward. I give the Oscars this year a B-... Here's my philosophy behind the grade. As the host of the Oscars, I expected more from Ellen. She had her moments like when she flashed her screenplay to Marin Scorsese but there were some dull dreary moments where I thought she was going to do something funny and it just ended. Blah. My predictions were 80% correct and while I thought the departed was a great movie, I didn't think it should have won for Best Picture. shocker! Jouvan my sis was also upset as so was the rest of Paramount Vantage because they expected Babel to do a lot better in many of its categories. AND WHERE WAS BRAD PITT? Oh and I also loved that Jennifer Hudson won for best supporting actress. She is the "feel good" story of this year's Oscars. I also thought her pe...

Life update

Image
Its been a long while since I've posted anything. I have been really busy and life gets more and more complicated as you get older. I look back to when I was a kid, I used to always want to get older quicker. When I was 12, I wanted to be 16. When I was 16, I wanted to be 18 and so on. Now, I'm 28 and I want to go back to being 18. Back to life when my parents paid the bills, I went to school and the only thing I worried about was material stuff. Those were the days =) Just kidding. I wouldn't trade my life for anything but its nice to dream. Enough dreaming. Sunday was my dad's birthday. He's a February baby. I had some fun stuff planned for his birthday. I got CLUB 808 seats at a warriors game for us that night. We had lunch, spent some time together and then headed to the Oracle Colosseum where the Warriors hosted the Atlanta Hawks. This was both of our first time's at a professional basketball game and it was amazing. Our seats were so perfect, right in the ...

Intuit is going back to the 90's

Image
From TMZ.com So, what rhymes with "1099" and "itemized deductions?" We know who would know -- Vanilla Ice, of course. Vanilla who? Those crazy tax software pros at Intuit have gotten the most infamously un-entertaining white boy of all -- Vanilla Ice -- to shill for them during tax season. In a gloriously nonsensical (and possibly brilliant) promotion, the company recruited Vanilla (also known as Rob Van Winkle) to help pimp its TurboTax software in a contest they're calling The Tax Rap. Civilians can post their own rhymes about W-2s and Schedule Bs to www.thetaxrap.com . Former "Surreal Life"-er Mr. Ice will judge the entries and announce a $25,000 winner on tax day, April 15, but for now he's graced us with his own tax-related masterpiece. Also, if we didn't before, we now know exactly where Kevin Federline got his artistic inspiration. I guess intuit is getting hip to the game!

Poor Anna

Image
dude, just when I thought I was having the worst day ever stuck at home with a fever and cough, my sis tells me that Anna Nicole Smith died!! What the...!!! How tragic is the story of Anna Nicole? She has been through hell the past year and her life came to an end on a sad and bitter note. Since I'm home, I've been watching the press conference from the hospital and no one knows what happened. Apparently Anna passed out and no one was able to revive her. Her hubby and baby were not with her at her time of death which is also bizarre. Anna's demeanor has been odd lately, especially during the her last few interviews, especially her interview with Larry King. To me, she seemed doped up. My speculation is that she overdosed on a cocktail mix of methadone, other prescription pills, maybe Trimspa and other drugs. I think the media frenzy drove her to suicide. It's both tragic and sad to see her go like this. I remember reading a while back that her idol was Marylin Monroe...

the cave

The Cave.. That's where I spent my entire day. I have been feeling sick with the flu and today was the worst of it. I woke up feeling like my throat had been cut up into little pieces and my cough felt like I was hurling up cattle. I closed the blinds, neil fed me my medicine in the morning and then he was off to work leaving me with Rocco and Peezy. I slept for 4 of the 8 hours today, joined by my dogs. I woke up when MY dear momma brought me chicken soup and then I woke up again when Neil came home to see me during his lunch break. Other than that, it was zzz's for me. I still feel like crap but I missed my computer, missed my blog and missed visiting my daily websites. I bet I got sick from Saturday's fun filled day with the kids. Both Jace and Aryana were coming off a cold and I think their germs got the best of mine. I was under the impression that kids can't get adults sick. Right? I'm living proof that all of that was baloney. During my day at home, I caught...

To shred or not to shred

Image
With the recent wave of "identity theft" and "online-fraud", I've been becoming more and more nervous every time I throw away anything with my name, address or anything else. There was a time where I would take everything and just throw it away without cutting it up. Neil would get irritated because he was the complete opposite. He would take any letter, credit card offer, or even prescription paperwork and tear it into a million little pieces before tossing it in the trash. I started to do it a little bit but it took so much effort and was just a waste of my precious time (unlike blogging). On Monday, we were hit with fraud. Neil, the active mail shredder, was exposed to credit card fraud. Neil logged onto his online bank account where he noticed an "international transaction fee" followed by not one, not two but three charges from EUROPE! Someone has been using HIS IDENTITY!!! As soon as that happened I knew that he was going to place some of the bla...
