Oscar the grouch

I joined millions of people around the world last night and watched a 4 hour Oscar marathon. At times it was good, at times it was slow and there were even some times when I had to fast forward. I give the Oscars this year a B-... Here's my philosophy behind the grade. As the host of the Oscars, I expected more from Ellen. She had her moments like when she flashed her screenplay to Marin Scorsese but there were some dull dreary moments where I thought she was going to do something funny and it just ended. Blah. My predictions were 80% correct and while I thought the departed was a great movie, I didn't think it should have won for Best Picture. shocker! Jouvan my sis was also upset as so was the rest of Paramount Vantage because they expected Babel to do a lot better in many of its categories. AND WHERE WAS BRAD PITT? Oh and I also loved that Jennifer Hudson won for best supporting actress. She is the "feel good" story of this year's Oscars. I also thought her performance with Beyonce and that other chic from Dreamgirls was outstanding. Jennifer Hudson's voice is insanely amazing and I wanted the performance to last forever.

enough oscar mumbo jumbo...

The rest of my weekend was like the Oscars. At times good but at times crappy because of the rain. It always seems to dampen your plans. Friday night was a great night. I'll tell you guys when I can say something about it but that news will have to wait a few days. And no I'm not engaged. Saturday was fun. Neil hit up the links without me because I was spending the day with RJ. I was bummed that I didn't get to golf but excited to spend the day with Raul Junior, who has been living in the United States for a whole 3 weeks now. He moved here from Germany and I got to take him sight seeing for a day. We took the dogs out for a walk in Los Gatos, went to my hair salon for a bang trim then hit up Santana row for some shopping and sushi at the ever so fabulos-o Blowfish. Before we went back home, I gave RJ the ultimate experience... I introduced him to SPRAY TANNING. Apparently there is no spray tanning in Germany so when I took him there, he couldn't believe how fast and how dark you can get from a mere spray. I love introducing people to new things and I think that he'll be a spray tan lover for life. Mission complete.

Later that night, Jenni and Carlos joined us at the movies where we saw Jim Carrey's 23. What a crazy movie. I'm usually a type of person where if a movie gets bad reviews, I don't see it. 23 had been tore up by critics as a huge disappointment but for some reason, I felt otherwise so we all decided to see it anyway and I'm glad we did. After watching it, I think that the critics were a little too harsh.. The movie was slow at times but the overall plot and conclusion was totally unexpected. I think that you should go see this movie, especially if like me, you have a favorite # (mine is 18) that you try to apply to every aspect of your life. If that makes no sense to you, then don't see 23. ;o)

This coming week is going to be long. The weather is suppose to be crappy and that means YEA to snowboarding but BOO for golf. I start a new class tomorrow night and that's always fun. I have a long week of work and projects coming left and right. I really want to go to a Sharks game so if you have tickets, please holler. I told you guys, I love chomper. Well so does Jana but I think I do a better chomper. Anyways, Have a great week and as Arnold would say, I'll be Back.
