sundays are fundays

This past weekend was interesting. I was in town all weekend but spent my time sleeping over at my family's house since my boyfriend Neil had his Father, Bro Josh and Josh's father in law over at our place for a boys weekend. They had NCAA March madness tix in San Jose for all the games + golf tee times scheduled all weekend long. I thought I'd let them be and do my own thing. What i realized this weekend is that I love to shop. =) I spent a number of days going to mall with various people including my aunt Naazi, RJ, Alana and Candice and sometimes with just me alone... those are sometimes the best shopping trips. I bought some fabulous items and my excuse shopping this weekend was MY NEW JOB. I kept telling myself, "Oh I totally need this for the city... " suuuuurrreeee. I just got home this morning and now my weekly cleaners are here working on the house. To my absolute surprise, I walked into a very very tidy house this morning. Seriously, I was shocked. The ...

Persian New Year 2007

Image
I guess I'm lucky enough to have 2 opportunities in life to make new year resolutions. I know I had a long list set in January. I have maintainted a few of em but I need to revamp them again for my second new year! Life is a journey and I plan on taking full advantage of everyday. I start my new job on Monday but I have some time to reflect on how my life is going to change this week. I was going to go to LA but my plans got cancelled since my sister has some major projects to work on at Paramount Pictures. The entertainment industry is non-stop so she's gotta put in some hard hours since she missed work this week. Since I'll be in town I have some time to catch up with ole friends, hang with my nini and boys and shop till I drop. Before I go, I wanted to leave some pictures from Yesterday's New Year festivites with my family. My mom hosted Persian New Year at her house again but this time, we ate at Dizzi's for dinner. We rung in the new year at my mom's hou...

Life's new challenge

As a follow up to my post last week, I am a no longer an Intuit-tee. On Friday, I left my cube, my coworkers and 6 years worth of memories behind me as I drove away from our Mountain View campus. I began working at Intuit at the ripe age of 22. I was a baby! I had an amazing farewell lunch with many of my close colleagues and dear friends. Thereafter, I headed home feeling really sad and weird . Don't get me wrong, I am super excited about my future however leaving something I've become so familiar with was unexpectedly difficult. I got home around 2pm on Friday with lots of nervous energy... and what do I do best when I have lots of energy? REMODEL! I redid our bedroom and felt a little better. I had a hair appointment at 7pm so I relaxed a little then headed to Umbrella Salon. As I sat on the chair with Kien behind me, I said lets CHOP IT OFF. Kien looked at me funny and asked if I was near that time of the month. I said, JUST DO IT. So he did. Here is my new do at dinne...

MIA: missing in action

It has definitely been a while since I left a thoughtful post. Tomorrow is my last day at Intuit and I have soooo many things to wrap up before I say good bye to my past and hello to a new chapter in my life. This departure is bittersweet but I know that my new journey is going to be a perfect fit for me.

This is why you suck!

Desperate for Starbucks??

Image
Oh where is my StarBucks ?? Some people are addicted to starbucks runs. Its a fact and its becoming a fixture of people's morning rituals around the nation. Now, What do those people who are in an unfamiliar neighborhood do when they desire Starbucks? Well fear not! Starbucks has just released a new Texting Service where you can send a text message with the ZIP code of your location to the number " MYSBUX " (697289), you'll receive another text with the addresses of the three nearest Starbucks locations. It won't cost you anything besides your cell phone plan's normal texting fees. How cool is that? I don't think starbucks is really desperate for any more business but they are on top of technology and I like that! Now, if only you could submit an order too when you send that text message.

Black Snake Mooaannn

Black Snake Moan is coming out tomorrow. This is the 3rd movie that is being released by Paramount Vantage. My sister Jouvan has worked her butt off marketing this movie online and you should definitely go see it this weekend. The movie is directed by Craig Brewer, the dude that also brought you the movie "Hustle and Flow" which was also a fabulous flick. As you all know by now, Black Snake Moan stars my man Justin Timberlake, Cristina Ricci and Samual "Snakes on a Plane" Jackson. RottenTomatoes.com said this about the movie " In "Black Snake Moan," a troubled bluesman (Jackson) tries to save a promiscuous woman (Ricci) by chaining her to a radiator. What sounds on paper like a lurid schlock-fest on paper is a surprisingly moving and occasionally funny drama, featuring edgy performances from its leads and a profound sense of place." If you're in the mood for a sexy soulful movie, then Black Snake Moan is it. Critics have started reviewing t...
