I love August

The past few weeks have been amazing, especially this last week. Unfortunately I am a year older but I will take the wisdom that comes with age. I cannot believe I am only one year away from being 30. But that's a whole nother story. I am going to enjoy 29 and I have a good feeling about it, especially since I had one of the best (and longest) birthdays ever.
I began the bday celebrating on Wednesday. My co-workers surprised me with a cake and gifts. It was so awesome, especially because I have really grown close with all my new coworkers. I love my job. I left work shortly after noon only to find out my car didn't start. I had to get a jump and was off, trying to make it home in time to meet everyone at the Mountain Winery for the Steel Pulse concert. The evening was great, the show was absolutely perfect. I had everyone I love with me and it was seriously just as I had imagined it.

The next day, Neil took me golfing at cinnabar. We had an absolutely terrific golf day and the weather was just the way I like it, HOT. :) Leo's like it hot. Yes we do. I can atest to that for sure. After our round of golf, we headed back home where Neil made me dinner. Neil and Peezy helped celebrate mine and Rocco's birthdays with a really cozy and relaxing night. Rocco even got his own plate of human food along with all of us singing happy birthday! it was really special.

I was back at work on Friday but I would barely call it that. We all went to Gordon Biersh on the embarcadero and had lunch and cocktails until around 2pm. I left work around 5pm because Neil had a surprise evening planned for me. It was cute because he had been talking about it all week. I came home and saw a card and my gift on the table. The card Neil got me was soooooooooooooooooooo amazing. His mom and my mom read it and they both cried. That good!!! Along with the card sat a Bridal magazine from Neil to me. What could this mean??? To be continued but I thought it was cute. I consider it a teaser or sneak preview .... ahhhh :) sooo excited.

We left the house around 7pm and I had no idea where we were going. It was funny because I'm usually so good at figuring this type of shit out but not this time. What was the surprise you ask? Well Neil's family had all gotten together at Bucca De Beppo and they were all waiting for me. I was so shocked as the host was seating us!! IT was soooo nice to celebrate my bday with neil's family in addition to my own. We enjoyed a nice dinner (I WAS SOO FULL!!) and came home and had major laughs before all going off to bed. I was suppose to be at Naazi my aunts house early Saturday morning to help her get ready for Aryana and Cyrus's birthdays.

Why so many bdays? It seems that my family is swarming with Leo Birthday... So far we have:
1. Malcolm (my uncle)
2. Jouvan (my sissy)
3. Myself
4. Aryana (cousin)
5. Cyrus(cousin)
6. Rocco (the love of my life)
7. Elliott (cousin)
8. Amanda (elliott's girlfriend)

Its crazy! So we have lots of parties in August and to be honest, August feels like December in my family.

I left for Naazi's house early Saturday morning. I stopped by Target to get all the games and prizes for the kids, since I was in charge of games for a bunch of 3-7 year olds. AWESOME!! good times!!

The party was at Naazi and Malcolms GIANT house in Atherton, CA. Their yard is the size of a freaking football field, with a pool, a playground and trampoline. There were a total of 15 kids and over 50 guests.

The kids loved the games. I started them off with a water balloon tossing contest, followed by egg on a spoon race then pin the tail on the donkey. The last (and best game) was messy. I had everyone get into two teams. At the end of the line, there was a huge bowl packed with whip cream. Each kid had to race across and try to get a swedish gummy fish out of the bowl only using their mouth. Then they had to carry the fish back in their mouth to the other side where they dropped it into a bowl and had their next teammate try to get the next swedish gummy fish. The kids had sooo much fun and in the end, their faces were COVERED in whipcream. I got a lot of props on that game.

At the end of the night, around 9pm I WAS DEAD tired. I was sunburnt, exhausted and just wanted to go to bed. Neil and I left soon after and I passed out on the couch which is where I am right now :)

Next week we are going on a family camping trip to Bodega Bay so there will be more family fun on tap for next week. I have lots of pictures from all of these parties and will be posting them soon. I just want to thank everyone for making my birthday super special. Thanks!!!

Peace. Rouge
