is the world coming to an end?

WOW. we just had a huge aftershock. fuck this. I am going outside... Ok I am back, here's quick update: There have been 30 aftershocks so far and the biggest was 2.8. Well not anymore, the earthquake that just happened moments ago was a magnitude 3.7!!! holy moly. What's going on here? !! Just be safe for the next few days and be prepared to duck and cover at any given moment. Neil and I slept downstairs with our boys lastnight because in the event of a quake I wanted to bust through the door in a flash... screw trying to go down the stairs! I also made sure I slept with my contacts on lastnight, in case I couldn't find my way out. I am legally blind you know. That's not cool. Link: USGS stats on the latest shaker that shook me The picture below shows the quake from yesterday and its magnitude and reach. There's also some info about the Loma Prieta quake that happened in 1989. That was when I was a little girl working on gymnastics with my sister. That quake also h...

Wow. approximately one hour ago (8:04 pm October 30, 2007) poor San joser residents (that's slang for people who live in san jose, ca) were hit with a crazy ass earthquake that was measured to be a 5.6. The quake was timed to be 15 seconds but I know that is not right, the quake felt more like 25 seconds. The earthquake was felt all over the bay area but the epicenter was in Alum Rock, about 7 miles east of San Jose. The quake was long and fairly intense. The shaking caused a lot of pictures and other stuff on shelves to move around (not fall) and the pictures hanging were all crooked and drawers were opened. What was I doing? Well let's just say I felt the earthquake probably 1 millisecond into the whole thing. I jumped up and bolted of my condo... forgetting I had Neil and the dogs with me!! I grabbed the door and ran back and Neil yelled at me to get under the doorway. The dogs were both under the table freaking out. I personally am not much of an under-the-door or under-a-...

Lucky Dube - You will be missed!

One of my favorite Reggae artists was gunned down in a senseless carjacking incident on Friday in Johannesberg, South Africa. I saw Lucky Dube first perform live in Reggae on The River when I was 15 years old. He was an amazing performer and his energy on the stage had me hooked to his style and his music ever since. His songs have a Caribbean soulful vibe and all his tracks make me feel like I'm on vacation in the islands. If you are interested in checking out Lucky Dube's music, click here to go to his Rhapsody Page. Here's one of lucky's latest videos. Gosh I'm so bummed about this news!! Its crazy that he was just shot over his car, something so materialistic was more important to someone than a person's life. some people are insane... and to make matters worst, the entire incident took place in front of his son. My best goes out to lucky's family and friends. All we as his fans can do is support his music. Fortunately, Lucky's 22 albums will live ...

since i'm working late...

might as well advertise how bad ass Rhapsody is to everyone.. "Life without music, I can't cope" (Steel Pulse)

THE HAWAII WARRIORS SUCK and I HATE THE TEAM, THE COACH and THE FANS!!

Image
Talk about lucky sons of bitches, if you didn't get a chance to see the Spartan's nearly dominate the Hawaii Rainbow pansies, then you missed one heck of a game. ( picture slideshow courtesy of the SJ Mercury News ) The game began at 5pm and the weather was crap... rain was pouring and the fans were a few... that was until the sun came out and the fans began arriving, reaching to 20,000+ packing the Spartan stadium. ESPN packed the house in the press-box, scouts were hovering around the media stations, trying to find a good seat and stadium workers ran around the stands wiping down seats so people's rears could remain dry. The Hawaii Rainbow Pansies were the talk of football and everyone was expecting SJSU to lose and to lose big. The spread for the game had Hawaii favored by 20+ points. Since this was the only Division 1 football game to be aired on Friday night, everyone on ESPN was ranting about hawaii and their lame ass QB Brennan. Football Analysts were sure that San...

The Laali Sister Evolution

Image
Laali Sisters Before... Jo and I were a random pair. We loved doing a little bit of everything... we played sports, we LOVED baby sistters club books, we enjoyed having lemonade sales, we created clubhouses, treehouses, played board games, loved nintendo, loved NKOTB, slept in a tent out in our backyard during summers, listened to reggae, fought and argued 24-7 (all jo's fault), enjoyed going camping, loved to paint our rooms crazy colors, we loved making movies with our video camera, we made music videos to color me bad, MC hammer, NKOTB, The Party, and more. We both wore those ugly biker shorts from Mervyns (we thought it was stylin!), we shopped at little folks shop in oakridge, hit up great america and raging waters ALL the time... God it was nice being a kid. Now we're proffesional working women in the real world. Loving life, loving our family and friends and DOGGIES and couldn't ask for anything more (well money is always something I could ask for more of...) THE LAA...

I realize that my posts on RougeTimes have been far less these past few months. I have been consumed with work and school so I have reasons! School Daze I graduate in February and its super important that I try to focus on school the next few months and finish with all my goals accomplished. I start Santa Clara Univ. in March (MBA program) so I have a couple of weeks OFF. My awesome daddy has promised me a vacation to Jamaica... That is enough motivation to keep me on track till I land in Kingston or Montego Bay, Jamaica... where I plan on being Irie for a long time; 10 days to be exact... 10 days to recuperate and relax.. aweee... There's not where I'd rather go visit than Jamaica for now so I'm SUPER STOKED!! Rhapsody Rocks Other than school, working on Rhapsody has been fun but pretty intense. We have so much going on (with MTV, Verizon and other hush hush shenanigans) and things are moving along fast so while I'm working tons of hours, it doesn't really feel...
