Hoodie Hoo...
Life as a fiance has been remarkable. Well nothing major has changed between my home life besides that fact that Neil looks at my ring 10 times a day and that I have a pile of bridal/wedding magazines on my coffee table. I've been sick the past couple of days but I've been getting a lot of sweeti emails and phone calls from friends and family alike congratulating Neil and myself on our engagement. After seven years of dating, Neil and I are official.
It's pretty incredible looking back on our life thus far together, especially the last 4 years. Ever since we moved in with eachother, I realized that we make a great team. As life's experiences have challenged us over the years, we've remained strong and maintained a trustworthy and loving relationship. All ingredients to a long lasting bond.
I am so excited to have a wedding to celebrate our togetherness and have all of our family and friends be a witness the beginning of a life long adventure. The thought of that makes planning a wedding freaking awesome. In fact, everyone seems to want to know the big date... there are 3 questions that almost EVERYONE has asked me since my engagement:
(1) How did he do it?
(2) Let me see the ring
(3) When is the wedding?
Neil and I have decided to give ourselves a couple of weeks to let the engagement sync-in before we got off and set a date. This is a time for us to get over the 'shock and awe' and to have time to let everyone know and have small gatherings with our closest friends and family to pump up the up and coming events.
The first few things I need to figure out are the time frame, wedding venue and budget. I think these are the 3 biggest things before you can move forward so we're going to take our time. No rush right? Yeah whatever. If you know me, you know I'm the farthest thing from patient.
I wish I could explain to everyone my enthusiasm but I think people who've experienced love can attest to my elated attitude. I just wish this darn cold would go away. Neil's mom has planned a family get-to-gether this weekend in Sonora to celebrate our engagement. We will also be having one in bay area coming up soon. Neil's family is amazing and I love his mom and I'm so lucky to have her in my life.
Now, I have to get going to go to class. I ended up leaving work early because my flu is out of control. Tonight is a very exciting night of class. It is the last night of my class and my next class is my LAST CLASS!! WAHOOO!!! Hoodie Hoo!! This is a huge and exciting achievement for me and one that I've been dreaming about forever. My learning team and I have been together since day 1 (almost 2 years ago) and ending it together will be super emotional. I'll be updating rougetimes periodically and will keep you all in the loop with wedding details and more... Ciao.
