Happy New Year!! (persian style)

Noorooz, the Iranian name for New Year, was rolled out at 10:48:19 PM, Wednesday March 19, 2008. This also marks the first day of spring which also arrives the exact same time as Persian New Year. The timing is all based on the occurrence of the spring equinox. I spent the evening at my dad's house where my sister, her bf Ryan, Neil, Nicole (dad's gf) and I plus all 4 doggies brought in the new year with an array of persian food. Dishes include Rice, fish, Kookoosabzi, Khoreshteh Geimeh and Gormesabzi, all along with some salad shirazi and mastemoosir.

wow, I'm getting hungry talking about it. The evening was a lot of fun and we also got to watch some basketball too. I spent today again with my family and it was really nice because the weather was perfect for the welcoming of spring. Spring fever is coming soon and I can't wait.

I have a jam packed few days ahead of me with dinner at my uncle Arash's tomorrow night, Golf with Ryan and Neil on Saturday, a Sabercats game on Saturday night and then Easter Sunday with Neil's family. Alright, I gotta go and squeeze in some march madness into my evening before I hit the sack.

Talk about lucky sons of bitches, if you didn't get a chance to see the Spartan's nearly dominate the Hawaii Rainbow pansies, then you missed one heck of a game. ( picture slideshow courtesy of the SJ Mercury News ) The game began at 5pm and the weather was crap... rain was pouring and the fans were a few... that was until the sun came out and the fans began arriving, reaching to 20,000+ packing the Spartan stadium. ESPN packed the house in the press-box, scouts were hovering around the media stations, trying to find a good seat and stadium workers ran around the stands wiping down seats so people's rears could remain dry. The Hawaii Rainbow Pansies were the talk of football and everyone was expecting SJSU to lose and to lose big. The spread for the game had Hawaii favored by 20+ points. thug night...pack up your eggs baby!

I updated this story.. so if you read it. Reread it. I missed some very important points. ******************************************************************************** What seemed like a normal Tuesday night .. turned out to be quite interesting. First off, I got home lastnight from work before Neil. I was working from home when Neil got home and said let's take the dogs for a walk and grab coffe and go to the grocery store.. Good Ole Zanatto's. We got the dogs dressed and heade d out. After grabbing coffee and groceries, we start heading back home. The walk home is about 3 blocks but we pass many bars and many thugs on our route home. lastnights thug count was out of control. We were walking towards blockbuster/farenheight on San Fernando when we walk past a group of teenagers... about 10 of them. They seemed nice... One of the boys calls Rocco over. Football Widow 2010

Its Football Friday at the Parry House again. For those that don't know, my hubbie is the defensive coordinator for the Sobrato High School Football Team. They are so far 2-1 (Ugh that loss still hurts) and they are ready to play again tonight against Independence High school in San Jose. Here's their entire upcoming schedule The game should be good and if the boys come out to play, they should get the BIG W! Let's go BullDogs! A common terminology used by woman married to men that coach football is that during football season you are a football widow. It is NO JOKE. I thought that football was time consuming when Neil played back at SJSU but NOW, its CRAZY!! Coaching is a very time consuming job, especially if you are super into it like my husband is. Practice M-F afternoon/evening, games friday nights and football planning half the day on a SUNDAY!! With 2 boys at home with me, its super hard because Neil is so tied up with football!!
