Smokey Mess
Things here in my world have been good. I just came back from a nice weekend of camping only to have to jump back into a crazy work week. Now that its Friday afternoon, I can take a nice sigh of relief and enjoy a weekend that's about to start any minute.
I woke up this morning to the news showing about half of California on fire. What the heck is going on!! Everyone is talking about staying indoors and not breathing in the air. There are over 1,000 fires in progress throughout California. Do we have enough fire fighters to handle them? Most of the fires were started from the lightning we had earlier this week. I experienced the same thing on Saturday while we were camping. We had about 1.5 hours of on/off rain and thunder/lightning. It was kinda scary because before that, it was a hot and beautiful day. To make matters worst, we were camping on a site with a tree that had been previously hit by lightning. Go figure!
Today was my 24.5 week doctor appointment for Junior. I took my dad and neil with me and we all got to watch my baby bounce around on the monitor as the doctor tried to measure his parts (head, body and leg). The baby is right on track for delivery on Oct. 14. He's so freaking funny. He is very hyper and always goes nuts whenever we get an ultrasound done. I feel him kick and move around on a daily basis so that has been really fun. Neil and other people outside my belly still can't feel him but its just a matter of weeks. I can't believe this is my last month in my 2nd trimester. Next thing you know I'm gonna be delivering the baby!! ok. let's not freak me out.
I got some cool pictures from my camping trip. Here are some that I thought were worth posting. For all of em, visit flickr.
