5 weeks and counting...

Being a mommy has been AMAZING. FANTASTIC. AWESOME. I cannot even describe it in words because I feel like there aren't strong enough adjectives in the world to capture the emotions that go behind being a parent.

The first month has been pretty cool. The days FLY by and I look back and wonder, where did the day go? The first couple of weeks were rough. I was mostly recovering from my c-section and trying to get the hang of breastfeeding. My family and Neil were very helpful during this time... I don't know how women can handle things after a cesarean without additional help. I am very impatient so I started to do things on my own fairly quickly but I had to keep telling myself to slow it down. Leonidus slept, pooped and ate a lot during the first couple of weeks. He started getting more alert in his 3rd week of life and now he's just adorable. He's gaining weight fast and he's a healthy and whopping 12 lbs and this was at his 1 month appointment.

I call him my HUNK because he is just that and we've got a bib to prove it:

Things have started getting even more exciting since he turned 4 weeks old. He smiles now, googoo's and gaagaa's to his mommy and daddy and even holds his head up for a few seconds. He's so much more alert and stares into our eyes and even cracks a little crooked smile from time to time that just melt out hearts away. Neil is the pro at getting him to burp after feedings and he's also really good and putting LJ to sleep on his shoulder...

Here he is during his 30 minutes of head lifting exercise training:

Our FAVORITE FAVORITE thing to do right now is getting in the bath with Leonidus. We trade off on who gets to give him the bubble bath but I swear I could take 2-3 baths with him if I could. Even his MamaniJoon stops by to give him baths. I think its because Leonidus just loves it so we all like to spend time in there playing with his toys and bubbles.

Leonidus also enjoys car rides and hanging out with his brothers Rocco and Peezy although they don't really get to do many fun things together. But that won't be long... I have yet to get Leonidus to use his binky aka pacifier but he is starting to enjoy it during long car rides. Leonidus hates his swing so we are in the market to get him a new swing. My friends highly recomment the Fisher Price one so we might have to hit up Babies R Us soon to try it out.

Being a mom is awesome!
