Camping @ Clear Lake June 2009

My family and I recently went camping at Clear Lake State Park, one of the largest, one of California’s largest freshwater lakes. The campgrounds is north of Calistoga in the wine country.
Neil, Leonidus, Jace (Neil's baby bro) and I got on the road Thursday after 3 hours of packing. Its rough packing for an infant who's crawling, 2 adults who are kinda high maintenance and a 9 year old. Let's just say, thank goodness we had room for the 4 of us in the Cadillac. LOL. Thankfully Neil is an amazing packer and he takes pride into packing as much stuff into a car with minimal use of space. Good Going Boo!!
The drive up to Clear Lake was beautiful. I mean, scenic in every sense of the word. we drove through gorgeous wine country, tight windy roads that were desolate and wild... it was incredible. I love new road trips that we get to go on because its a new route, new things and new adventures.
one thing that sucked was that almost everyone from my dear family was there but my sister (LJ's Aunti) Jouvan. It sucked but we promised that we would make our next camping trip down south so that she can join us.
The drive was about 3 hours long and we even stopped at a winery!! Leonidus slept for about 2.5 hours of the drive. ROCK ON BABY!!! Here are some pictures from our stop...
The backseat riders
Our pitstop..McDowell Winery
It was HOT!
Look at how much crap we packed!!
About 18 miles of the trip took place on the windiest road I have ever been one...
The camping trip overall was SPLENDID. I don't know how but 3 nights flew by and it was very sad once Sunday came around. The campground was very nice, had great sites, nice clean bathroom and shower facilities.. It made it so that you were comfortable enough roughing it for more than just a few nights. That's why it was bittersweet leaving. Leonidus had a GREAT time. He was around tons of family, getting LOTS of attention from his aunts, uncles, grandma and cousins. Sometimes I felt like I barely got to hang out with him :)
Here are some more photo's from our time there. I hope we have a few more AWESOME camping trips like this before the summer winds to a close. We also got to celebrate LJ's 8 month birthday all together at Clear Lake. Yeah!!!
The Family RV... Good to have!
Neil chillin in the RV
My mom was so amazing during the camping trip. She ABSOLUTELY LOVES LOVES LOVES Leonidus and helped us relax because she wanted to spend tons of time with him. I have a TON of pics of the two of them. So here is just one of many...
I highly recommend this walker for ANYONE who's going camping with a 6+ month old who has yet to learn to walk on their own. IT WAS AWESOME and LJ felt like a real walker in it. I swear he got some mad speed with it.
My specialty while camping is my sausage english muffin sandwiches... Here are my tools and I swear, you have to experience my camping breakfasts. Its AWESOME!
Neil and I bought this stove (coleman) about 3 years ago. We have used it a TON of times. Great investment for campers!! For details, go to REI.com. The pots/pans are also from REI and are made for camping!
The Parry Family's humble abode... I think we are going to need a new tent next year... I feel like we've outgrown this one!
Neil chilling with his son, Leonidus. Do they look alike? I don't even need to ask!
The girls and Leonidus. Good group shot of my beautiful Family. Jouvan, we missed you!!
LJ's new thing: He tries to laugh like us now.. its hilarious watching him try and copy an adult laugh..
We played lots of soccer
We even had team pics
I guess I started beating up Ariyana in the middle of our game.. woops.

Leonidus LOVED playing with sand, shells while being naked :) What is this, reggae on the river?? haha...
one thing about camping with my mom and grandma is that they love feeding LJ all kinds of fruits... here is LJ after having been given an Apricot by his Mamanijoon :)
All in All, the camping trip was amazing and here is a final photo, a picture of my new family, one that I know I will cherish for a lifetime:
