Welcome to 2010...that's Twenty Ten People!

Wow, we've entered a new decade and I can't believe it. It feels like yesterday I was celebrating New Years Eve in the heart of Time Square in New York waiting to see if Y2K would blow up the city :)

I have so much to be thankful for during the past decade and have so much exciting stuff to look forward to in the coming decades!

During the past 10 years...
*I met my husband
*I had a beautiful baby boy
*I graduated from college
*I started working in the corporate world and had a total of 6 jobs!
*I bought a house
*I watched the dot com bubble burst, blow up again..only to burst again a year ago
*I lost loved ones who I will remember for a lifetime
*I got 2 dogs who have been with me through thick and thin
*I got to watch my boyfriend (now husband) play again after losing his leg during a football injury
*Started a BLOG! First Rougetimes.com then added Parrytimes.com since I have a family
*I got my sister a dog... Now she has two bitches
*I learned how to GOLF. Falling in love with a new sport was totally unexpected but now I can play golf forever!
*I got to go to the superbowl

...wow, there's so much more that I can't remember but those are just some things that stood out in my mind. So much happens in 10 years...There is no telling what will take place in the coming 10 years. I'm excited and anxious about it.

Now its "TwentyTen" and its a year we've long awaited for... The past 2 years have been especially tough on everyone with the economic climate being so gloomy however it is so warming knowing that we are entering the new decade at rock bottom. I mean, seriously, it can't get any worst (i'm saying this with my fingers crossed) and we can only progress and better ourselves, our government and our world from here on out. I know that my family and I have learned great lessons during the past 2 years...or what i like to call the Financial Dumps.

Gone are those days where I would walk into Nordstroms and pick up 2 juicy outfits totaling $500 and buying them. I wish I could go back in time and slap myself when I would buy outfits for one night of partying. I mean, really, was a new outfit for that ONE night at MISSION ALE HOUSE that critical? I think not. lol... Hindsight is 2020 for sure.

SO back to my rant about the new year. Its an exciting time and not only can we set new year resolutions, we can also set DECADE resolutions. Write down each of your resolutions for the year and decade. Then breakdown each one in smaller milestones... This will help you achieve your goals much easier. For example: One of my new year resolutions is to Travel. I have 365 days to complete this goal for the year. In the first 3 months I plan to save $x amount of dollars for a trip. In the 4th month, I plan to select a destination and solidify travel plans. In the 5th month I plan to GO! ...now that's an example but I swear I find that this works so much better than just saying.. Yeah I want to travel. There needs to be more details around each resolution allowing you to check off milestones towards your goal.

Boy do I sound like a program manager or what. OK. I'm out for now. Have a beautiful January day and make the most of each minute you have to live.
