Strange Saturday...

Its Monday night at 9:15pm and the hubby, doggies and I are sitting in the living room, next to a cozy fire, watching the Sharkies play while our boy is fast asleep in his crib, re-Ferberized after a week of sleepless painful nights. It feels SO wonderful to have a healthy and rested household. Last week was ROUGH!!

So I have a story to share with everyone. It's from my weekend. Its not all that great but I felt like using my blog as therapy to get my thoughts out in writing.

There are 2 key take always from the story below:
(1) Don't try to carry a dog and baby at the same time for a long period of time. It's not easy nor is it good for your back
(2) Never go to Harv's Car Wash (off Stevens Creek and San Thomas Blvd in San Jose). They suck.

So...On Friday night, we all felt somewhat better and were enjoying the start to our weekend when we noticed Rocco (our 8 year old Dachshund and my 1st baby) limping. The limping got progressively worst so on Saturday morning it was my duty to take him to the vet. Neil had to work so I took Leonidus and Rocco to the vet.... boy do I wish I had a video camera to show you all how hard it was! Rocco couldn't walk so I had to carry him in and out of the car. The harness hurt his back too much so I didn't want to aggravate his condition any more.

Rocco whined and cried the entire car ride to Burbank Pet Hospital. Once we got there, I realized I had no stroller. So I had to take LJ on one hip while I held Rocco in my free arm. LJ weighs 27 lbs and Rocco weighs 18 lbs. Together that makes one BIG ASS LOAD! I somehow got in and we were assigned a room. The vet was running behind schedule so I had to try and keep Rocco cuddled while prevent LJ from touching too much stuff in a dirty vet room.

Can you imagine how much dog piss, fleas and other crap exists in a vet office? I was so pissed I didn't have both hands on LJ at all times. EW. Anyways, long story short Rocco might be embarking on some knee problems. We were sent home with some pain meds and he got a morphine-like shot that made him feel woozy and rested the entire remainder of the day. Getting back in the car was another struggle and once we were all in the car, I had to sit and take a breather because I was winded beyond belief.

My Saturday morning only gets better. Don't ask me what I was on but I decided to go to the car wash with a half comatose dog and a hyper baby. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! and to top it off, I get to my car after they were done with the interior/exterior wash and it looked like GARBAGE. The trunk was filled with dirt, the seats covered in milk stains... I desperately wanted to go home but the car was in such crap shape I couldn't leave Harv's Car Wash (Stevens Creek Blvd in San Jose) without getting my money back. I paid $20 for a car wash and I was not about to leave without a full refund. I get a hold of a manager (thankfully he spoke english) and told him to look at my car. I asked him "What do you think of the condition of my vehicle? Really, be honest. Is this CLEAN to you?" The look on his face was priceless. He couldn't lie. The car looked like ass. He said Let us wash your car again. I was like "UM, do you see I have a baby and a dog that's wrapped up in a blanket in pain... I already waited 25 minutes. I'm not waiting anymore. I want my dinero back ahora." I wanted to yell profanities in spanish because some of the people cleaning cars around me were staring like I was being a biatch. I had to calm myself down and convince myself that I wouldn't let my hormones get the best of me.

I got my money back and left the car wash hoping that I could make my tires screech as I drove off but it didn't do it. Hope I didn't look stupid leaving the place. All the people that worked there were staring at me. I must have looked frazzled. Ugh I hate Harv's Car Wash with a passion.
