LJ's 18 month Checkup
My baby boy... well maybe I should say Toddler had his 18 month checkup and all things looked great! Our little bundle of joy is growing and he amazes us each and every day with new words, his skills, his emotions and everything else!
The Stats:
Height - 34 inches - 90%
Weight - 27 lbs - 75%
He's only 2 feet from outgrowing his mom!! Yikes!
He's also got a slowly growing vocabulary. As of today, he knows how to say:
-bear
-berry
-mameh (milk)
-mommy and daddy
-wall
-ball
-shhhhzzz (shoes)
and he makes so many sounds that mimic animals and cars. Its SO CUTE! Ugh, i love Leonidus so much. Can you tell I'm a proud mama? :)
amd for those of you who know LJ, you know he's obsessed with all kinds of sports...especially those that involve balls. He still golfs around the house, yard and just about everywhere else we go daily. I am not joking, he LOVES it. He's now added baseball swings and basketball throws to his daily list of things to do. He even loves to watch all the sports on TV with his daddy. He claps anytime someone scores a goal, shoots a basket or makes a putt. Sometimes Neil and I look at one another and say did we really have a son who loves sports this much... I mean, we could have only dreamed of this :) Let's see how Baby Numero 2 will be. Wonder if he'll take after his bro. I could go one forever but I'll stop the mom-rambling and move on.
What's next for Leonidus:
Well for starters we have 2 huge milestones coming.. (1) Potty Training and (2) Weaning LJ off the bottle (milk)...
I am dreading both of these. I am dreading the bottle issue more than potty training. I just ordered the potty and everything else including books and the elmo potty dvd tonight. I'm actually feeling confident that this should not be too hard. however the bottle is a HUGE issue with Leonidus. He drinks roughly 2.5 gallons of milk (100% organic) every week. He drinks water and juice out of sippy cups fine but when it comes to milk, he won't TOUCH it unless it has a nipple. We've tried EVERYTHING and he goes ballistic when we try to fool him. You don't mess with LJ and his milk. He's just that crazy about it. In fact, one day Neil took a needle and made the smallest hole in one of his bottle nipples, in the hopes that we could gradually make the hole bigger day by day and then he'd wean himself. ARE YOU KIDDING?? He threw the bottle and GOT PISSED. It was not fun and every so often we accidentally give him that nipple with his bottle of milk and he recognizes it in a SNAP and tosses it like its on fire.
You feel bad for me yet? Most parents gripe about potty training but I think potty training might be a cinch compared to my battle with the bottle. I'll keep you all updated should you be interested in seeing who wins this battle :)
I know I've been awful at keeping up with my blog. I haven't posted pics, or posts, in FOREVER. I'm HORRIBLE! Where does the time go! I lost my usb adapter to transfer pics from my camera to my laptop. Good news is that I just ordered one from Amazon.com so get ready for a flood of new pictures!
I need to hit the sack or I'd write more but I hope all my readers still visit from time to time. I promise to never abandon this site. If you get a chance, add yourself as a follower to my blog so you get an alert every time I do a new post (since they're so rare now!). Ciao!
