A little bit about life with two boys
When I arrived home from my 5 days of rest and recovery at the hospital, I was feeling great. I came home to a delicious persian cooked dish courtesy of my mom, my sister was playing with Leonidus and Neil was running errands for the new baby and assembling baby stuff.
Things seeemed easy.
Two days later, my sister left to go back home to LA LA land. My mom returned to work and Neil, my husband and father of a newborn, had to go to 3 FULL DAYS of football camp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There I was... 2 boys, both under 2 years old and a mom who had no clue what she was about to experience. Those were by far the hardest few days of my life. Leonidus is a little dude so he's just learning to communicate. He meant well every time he went over to his brother to kiss him ... or when he climbed on top of him wanting to hug hum ... but that meant I had to hold the baby, while trying to entertain Leonidus ALL of this while I'm still recovering from my c-section. On the 2nd night of me being alone with the boys, I lost it. I was already emotional from all the hormonal changes you experience from child birth and having the stresses of a newborn and toddler were overwhelming.
Soon Neil's football load lessened and he was able to spend a few days with me and I had my family and friends around to give me support. I think that taking your friends who have babies dinner is the kindest thing you can do because new mom's need all the help they can get.
Thinking back to those first few weeks are funny. I can laugh now because all those trials and tribulations are far behind me but at the time all i could think to myself was "what have i gotten myself into!"
Life nowadays could not be better. Kian is more aware, active and is constantly smiling. He's almost 3 months old and I can't WAIT for his first laugh. That was my favorite milestone with leonidus because it brought me to tears. Leonidus has grown into such a hilarious handsome boy. He still LOVES sports but has also really gotten into TRAINS and SUPERHERO's (this one due to his Daddy's love for comics). He is both a momma's boy and daddy's boy. he loves to make people laugh, loves to talk and is getting more rambunctious as he gets older. He is still in swim class and has recently started taking soccer classes. We had him in the little gym for 2 semesters but will re-enroll in the winter after a little break. He knows his ABC's and 123's almost by heart and can even count to 10 in FARSI!
Leonidus will soon turn 2 years old in a few weeks and I'm still in shock about it. He was JUST a little baby!!
The other night, Neil and I were talking about how it won't be long until we won't be able to kiss him on the lips. Some parents are wierd about that stuff but I love to kiss my little man. Sometimes I wish time would slow down...or even stop for a second so I can enjoy where my life is at right now.
