This and That.
Its almost holiday season time and I CANNOT WAIT. If you know me, you know I'm a huge fan of Thanksgiving, Xmas, Halloween... shoot even 4th of JULY!
This year, the holidays are already looking spectacular. This thanksgiving my family will continue the 10 year running tradition of going to Lake Tahoe. This year our cabin is amazing! I thought the other homes we stayed at were nice but this one seems incredible. We're ON THE LAKE with our own dock and pier. Yes. NUTS. I will post some pictures of the cabin but I'm sure I'll take some while we're there. The past 6-7 months have been very crazy for Neil and I. Tough pregnancy with constant back pain, baby arrival right before the heart of football season and adjusting to two boys under two was overwhelming. Then add work and life's responsibilities on top of that and BAM! insanity. We both are in desperate need of a vacation and 5 days of family time in Tahoe might just do the trick. I am not the type of person that can just sit still but at the same time, having help and time away from work, house chores and the daily hustle will be incredible.
Seriously, I have never been so challenged as I have been the past few months. Fortunately, Neil and I are totally in control of things and we are back to loving life. The boys are doing great, getting along and growing up. We enjoy every second of it now that we have settled down back at home.
but damn, the first 2 months were FREAKING HARD!! HARD HARD HARD. Did I say hard? I am thankful for friends, family and a loving and amazing husband that got me through it.
This summer, my 2 friends Kim and Melanie both had babies so we went on tons of play dates. The summer was so special because we all had our 2nd babies and were able to talk about life, its challenges and just be there for each other in ways other people couldn't. I'm thankful for this summer but I know looking back, I will always remember it.
In other news, my hubbie is majorly in the hunt to find a coaching gig at the college level. The search is not easy and getting your foot in the door at the college level is complicated. He's been in contact with some of his connections but the chances of him getting a GA spot are slim. Graduate Assistants in college football are like apprentices or interns. They get paid crappy, they work their tails of for hours all in the hopes to gain experience and hopefully it'll lead to a full time coaching position. They do everything that a coach does and then some. The job could take him ANYWHERE. North, West, East or South of the United States. I've lived in the Bay Area for 25 years. Moving is a bit of a scary frightening concept to me. How will I cope? Who knows... But I'm sure I'll have many interesting blogs in the future once Neil makes a transition to the college level. In the meantime, I'm taking full advantage of San Jose's great city, climate and my family and friends. In 1-2 years, all of this can change...
