packing...
been packing since thursday... today was the garage. boy was that rough. box after box after box. I typically like to throw things away and Neil... god bless his memory lane trips, he's a keeper type of person.
typical convo for us this weekend
'babe whats this'
-neil: oh that's my t-shirt from stanislaus state championship in 1996
'ok i'm going to throw it away, i can see through the t-shirt'
-neil: NO WAY! i'm keeping that for the boys!
we also had a bit of fun leaving things on the curb and marking it "FREE"... it was interested seeing how much random (useless) stuff people picked up!!! I started getting addicted to the game and would just look for crap to put on the curb and wait and see who'd come get it. I left an old mac computer monitor outside and this hoodlum looking guy comes by, pulls his car in front of the stuff and then grabs the monitor and takes off like he was stealing it. I'm like, UH HELLO!!! its free you idiot!
i highly recommend you try this at home. its quite amusing :)
OH and another pain in the butt area when it comes to packing is the kitchen.... bubble wrapping all the plates and glassware sucks but nothing sucks more than emptying out your junk drawers! We had 2 of them and it was filled with CRAP and there was also a cabinet that was stocked similar to a junk drawer. annoying items like paperclips, coins, toothpicks, receipts, pens, air fresheners, medicine, hippie lettuce, batteries, matches... you know ALL THE RANDOM stuff you put there so you don't have to deal with it. Anyways, it took me a good 2 hours sorting through these drawers. it was tedious and i hated it. I'm typically more organized but after having 2 kids, sometimes the crap piles up faster than you can handle. Goal for the new house, THROW IT AWAY!!
anyhow... we are 85% done with packing and we are going to Tahoe on Thursday with our dearest group of friends for some R&R before we make the big move and start the new chapter of our life in SACRAMENTO!
good night peeps! BTW, anyone care to share some facebook gossip with me, holler! :)
