THE MOVE

Our family is moved in and almost fully unpacked... things are going lovely in our new home and I am slowly beginning to realize that I am not in san jose...especially when I step outside and get into my car and the first thing I do is enter an address into the NAVIGATION because I HAVE no idea where to go.

This is my first *real* time moving to a city completely new to me. I have no idea where anything is and I basically lived in San Jose for 85% of my life.

I like to think of new chapters of my life beginning when a big change (good or bad) happens in my life... one that has an impact large enough to be an entirely new chapter. So this chapter is called "THE BIG MOVE" :)

As a family, Neil and I had prepared fully for this move. We knew that our goal was to have him coach at the collegiate level and in having that goal, our lives were going to be impacted in many ways, some good... some not so good. Moving is very bittersweet for me. I love new places, new opportunities and new chances to decorate however with moving comes separation from dear friends and family whom I consider to be so valuable to me.

Also with kids moving can be tough... I don't want them to feel torn right around the time they start to settle. I hope that Neil gets a stable coaching position sometime soon down the road so we can at least make a home in a city for at least 3-5 years at a time. BUT if you know anything about the coaching profession, life changes in an instant..really. it does. You can have a job in New York one second and the next, you are being asked to move to Hawaii in 1 week. Its CRAZY....

For now, I'm SUPER DUPER thankful that I am a mere 2 hour drive from the family and friends that I treasure the most! In fact, we were just down in San Jose celebrating persian new year. It felt SO FREAKING good to be back home... back in the midst of highway 85, 101 and all of the stores and roads I am so familiar with.

I really really do think the Bay Area is one of the GREATEST places to live. In fact, when people here in Sacramento hear we moved here from the Bay Area the first question is WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! lol....

It is very interesting having just the 4 of us here. We do have a couple of friends but for the most part we are here, alone and having to learn how to grow and adapt here together. We are all getting the same start. I think a move such as this brings you much closer as a family and I do feel it.

For all my family back in San Jose: I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU AND PLEASE VISIT ME!!
For all my awesome friends back in the Bay Area: I LOVE YOU GUYS and PLEASE COME UP HERE!! I need VISITORS!

I have a guest bedroom ready for ANYONE! So call me and make it happen!
