Thanksgiving 2007

So as promised, here is a slideshow of my Thanksgiving this year with the fam in beautiful Lake Tahoe. The entire trip was really fun. I didn't get to sleep as much as I had hoped because with 4 dogs and 2 kids and 17 adults, its hard to sleep in. The house was huge but people seem to love waking up people who are enjoying their ZZZ's. During our stay in Tahoe, we also celebrated the birthdays of two of my most favorite people: My Mom and Neil. You can see the pics of them blowing out the cake in the slideshow below. The pictures of the family and I in the RV are from our trip to and back from the Tahoe Donner hike. My family bought an RV about 2 years ago and it has become the preferred way of traveling. I absolutely hate being in it for long trips because its slow, its loud and my family is huge so there is little room to unwind. The RV has 2 full size beds plus a twin so there is plenty of sleeping space which is nice. My uncle has tons of drums and other instruments in...

Tahoe 2007

Image
It's Saturday afternoon and I'm unwinding in Tahoe after a pretty eventful few days. I absolutely love Thanksgiving and this year has been one of the most memorable family vacations that I have had since forever. The cabin we stayed in this year really exceeded our expectations and the house was amazingly built with the most cozy cabin feel. Things we did: (1) Wednesday: Got to Tahoe at Wednesday Morning (2) Thursday: Made turkey dinner (I made green bean casserole, brown Sugared Carrots and Butterscotch Rings) (3) Friday: Hiked. Got Home and got DRUNK. Neil left late at night with my boys :( (4) Saturday: Hungover and chilled. ...still going We went on a hike above Tahoe Donner... the hike from beginning to end was approximately 3 hours. The dogs were sooo tired that I had to carry them in my backpack. Imagine 30lbs of weiner dog being carried uphill. Not fun. Here is a picture of one of the views from our long hike... I promise I will post a lot more pictures in the days to c...

Alicia Keys made me happy lastnight...

I am not sure if you all watched the American Music Awards lastnight but my girl Alicia Keys brought down the HOUSE with her remix of her new song 'No One'. Not only is her album tights ( listen here ) but her performance was a Reggae MASHUP with 3 of my favorite reggae artists: Junior Reed , Chaka Deimus and Pliers and Beenie Man . If you missed it, you may not be able to watch it because Dick Clark has banned the airing of the live performance online... So you can listen to the mix here... you probably haven't heard this so remember who hooked you up!!

like the new look?

Just wanted to use a theme for my site that was using web 2.0 technology and had a more dimensional look and feel. hope u likie... Well i am off to have a blockbuster evening with neil. We're going to watch 'The Dog Problem' and then catch up with the show 'Weeds'. Ni also just bought some Ben and Jerry's iceeeee cream and it's going to go really well with our movie night. peace.

weekend wrap up

Image
This is a catch up post and I wanted to say hello to the world. My week has been sooo great and I haven't been this relaxed in weeks. Work has been very crazy lately (since 10-1-07 to be exact). My days have been consumed with work; long hours and lots of stress had me weak in the brain. This week has been wayy different. I had a relatively relaxing work week followed by a fun filled weekend hanging out with friends and family. Friday night, Neil, the dogs and I had a visit with the Cervantes bunch and played wii and had dinner. Hanging with them is always fun. Saturday was a day of college football (sjsu won) followed by an evening with my fellow Spartan alumni Scott, Alana and Mike Carr. Neil and I hung out with them all night watching football, drinking and rocking out to my new favorite game Guitar Hero 3 . Alana and I were trying to get our beer drinking maximized to better prepare ourselves for Cabo San Lucas where Alana will officially become Mrs. Rislov. We were able...

Team T.O.!!!

Image
Today is another day where T.O. gets to go back to the stinky ass city of Philadelphia so he can tear up the Eagirls (woops I means Eagles) on the football field. How do I feel about the Eagles? Well before I get into how much I LOVE the cowboys and Owens, I think that the Eagles are overrated and both the team and fans are lame. First and foremost, how does a team trust a coach like Andy Reid to coach a bunch of football players when his two spoiled ass kids are off slangin' drugs and carrying weapons around town. Dude, go home and take care of your family!! Secondly, the eagles organization is shady. Why? They let go of Trotter, Parry, Owens and Dhani Jones... all great ass players who the Eagles BLIND-SIDED and cut. Most teams value their players that give 150% and they stick with them. Not the Eagles. It a surprising shock to me that people in Philly wonder why their team is 3-4 (soon to be 3-5). ha haaa.... rouge make funni. :) The only guy they've got left is McNabb...

Thanksgiving at Granite Creek Lodge

Image
This year my family has chosen a new cabin in Tahoe to continue with the Thanksgiving Tradition. The 'Granite Creek Lodge' looks pretty sweet and is a slight upgrade compared to the cabin we've occupied the past two visits 'The Tahoe Ahwanee'. Here are some pics of the cabin; you can also get a fuller virtual tour by click here . I have also been talking to my friend Alana about getting a traditional tahoe trip started for friends. We are considering February. It would be cool to have this be a perminant event, similar to my family's thanksgiving trip, so that as we all grow and have families, it can become a bigger event throughout the years... The Outside: One of the cabin's Living Rooms: The TV is perfect for Thanksgiving Day Football Games! Kitchen:

lovin' my weekend...

Life has been smooth considering the shaky start (Get it? ha ha) My boy Neil is out of town and just wrapped up doing the radio for SJSU football. The spartans were playing the Boise State bronco's and SJSU got creamed. it was sad. Me on the other hand, I had my hands full with my cousins Aryana and Cyrus. (see them in the picture with their costumes on? what cuties!) Lastnight I went to Pedro's to celebrate my Uncle's birthday Arash. Everyone from my family was there (minus my Mom who's in Iran). We ate, we were loud as usual and I asked my aunt if I could take the kids for the night. To be honest, I was scared to sleep alone since Neil was gone and I was afraid another quake would hit. Naazi agreed to the slumber party idea and Cyrus (3) and Aryana (7) were mine for the night. We came to my house and had some dessert, we made a huge bed downstairs in front of the TV and watched spiderman and soon fell asleep. We woke up this morning (bright and early, gotta love kids...
