My baby turned 2! Happy Birthday Leonidus!

Image
This past week was very bittersweet for me. My first born son, Leonidus, turned 2. Two you say? That's not old. To me, its HUGE. To me, its like... WHERE THE HECK DID TIME GO? What happened to my infant Leonidus who wanted to sit and cuddle? Now I have this amazing 2 year old, who makes his own decisions, has his own emotions and can talk!!! We just had LJ's 2nd year doctor appointment. Everything looked great and as always here are his stats: Length 37" = above percentile 95 Weight 30lbs = between percentile 50 and 75 He was always up there in both length and weight but his weight seems to be dropping. must be because he's super duper active and jumps around all the time. Do you know how hard jumping is ? I tried to jump with him and 4 minutes later, I was about ready to die. JUMPING is nuts (do i sound old or what!) Every birthday, the Parry's have started a breakfast tradition. No matter who's bday it is in our family, we like to start the day off RI...

Pandora Necklaces...not so happy with them right now.

My hubbie recently surprised me with a gorgeous necklace from Pandora . The necklace contained a leo charm in the middle (for yours truley) and a July and October birthstone set on each side representing each of my beautiful baby boys. I wore this necklace for 2 months and the necklace part of it started to get tarnished looking, as if it were fake! I was pissed and during our last family outing to the mall, I went in to return it. First I was greeted by this woman, who had a short very manly haircut and a look of attitude all over her face. When you walk into a store and the person working there dogs you, and you want to RETURN something, its just not good. I knew off the bat she was going to be a bit*ch. I greeted her nicely and showed her my necklace. I told her that I wanted to return the necklace because after 2 months and after spending over $300 on it, it looked like CRAP! The lady looked at me, did a little neck bob and said, um where did you wear this? did you go to the des...

October 2010 and the magic of #5

Did you know that October 2010 not only had a cool 10-10-10 date in it BUT there's also another huge milestone this month? This October has 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays all in one month. It happens only once in 823 years How cool is that!!!?!

Giants can clinch it tonight -- Lets go Gigantes!!

Baby constipation...

For the past 5 months (or even longer now that I think about it) my son has been dealing with MAJOR MAJOR constipation. I stopped breastfeeding him at about 13 months old... not by choice but I got pregnant shortly after my son's 1st birthday so the doctor did advise to wean him off and start him on cows milk... Cows milk. My son LOVES LOVES, did I say LOVES? milk. He started drinking cows milk and we were going through 2-3 gallons of organic whole milk a week. He was drinking it morning, noon and night... about an estimated 34 oz a day. YIKES! As first time parents little did we know that his constipation started around the same time he started drinking cows milk. It was cute at first. He would sit down in a corner, clench his hands into fists and have this cute/sad/pitiful look on his face pushing trying to poop. This quickly became a horrible site for me because I just wanted him to poop and be free of this constant pushing! I should add here that we give our kids mostly organ...

sleep - or lack thereof

I remember the days where I used to sleep in until 10, or even 11am. I wish I appreciated the fact that no one relied on me nor did I have responsibilities other than myself. Once you have children, it is a fact of life-type of lesson that you will no longer get to sleep in. fact 1: It doesn't matter how late you keep your children up, they will wake up early. fact 2: children sleep an average of 11 hours a night, a parent is lucky if they can sleep 6 hours straight. fact 3: you will wake up with your kids in bed with you at least 3 times a week (in my case its 5-6 times a week) fact 4: you will have unrecognizable stains on your bed and it might be due to a leaky diaper... not sure if its the infants or the toddlers but its laundry time fact 5: kids have the perfect timing (i'm being sarcastic) when it comes to you know what The worst is when you go out and you have someone watch your kids. You get home late, go to bed late and god help you if you are hungover when you...

Halloween Costume Shopping 2010 - no bueno

I'm new to this whole holiday thing for kids. The last 2 holidays were easy because LJ was 3 month old and then 14 months old. He was kinda just going with the flow. This year is totally different. Let's take halloween for starters. October is a busy month for us. We have Leonidus's 2nd birthday (Oct 19), we've got his bday party to plan AND halloween! I started shopping for Kian and LJ's halloween costume about a week ago. Not smart. The first costume I had planned to buy for them is sold out completely nationwide. I was soooo sad because quite frankly I was super excited about the matching dinosaur costumes. Oh well. Round 2. I decided I can have both the boys dress like Lions. After waiting to think it through a few days I went online to place my order and BAM! The infant costume was sold out! So there went the whole matching concept I had in mind for halloween. I decided to go to the mall yesterday to see if we could find something in person. It was crazy a c...

Football Widow 2010

Image
Its Football Friday at the Parry House again. For those that don't know, my hubbie is the defensive coordinator for the Sobrato High School Football Team. They are so far 2-1 (Ugh that loss still hurts) and they are ready to play again tonight against Independence High school in San Jose. Here's their entire upcoming schedule The game should be good and if the boys come out to play, they should get the BIG W! Let's go BullDogs! A common terminology used by woman married to men that coach football is that during football season you are a football widow. It is NO JOKE. I thought that football was time consuming when Neil played back at SJSU but NOW, its CRAZY!! Coaching is a very time consuming job, especially if you are super into it like my husband is. Practice M-F afternoon/evening, games friday nights and football planning half the day on a SUNDAY!! With 2 boys at home with me, its super hard because Neil is so tied up with football!! I love love love football season ...
