As a huge fan of the San Jose State Spartans, I am going to use my blog to post news, pictures, updates and other related events on Rougetimes. I am not sure if my readers are football fans or not but I hope to get everyone excited for the upcoming college football season... which starts tonight. Thank goodness that its not just me having a hard time to live in San Jose. When you think of the richest cities in california, the average American probably thinks of: -BelAire -BeverlyHills -Menlo Atherton BUT according to a government national survey, San Jose came in as the richest big city in California. WOW. With home sales average price of $600,000, its no surprise that San Josers are working day and night to pay for living expenses.... Census Bureau reports slight rise in 2006 incomes but as a group, households aren't doing as well as before the 2001 recession. My camping trip to Bodega Bay was absolutely amazing this weekend. Almost everyone in my family attended the trip which would not have been the same if some people were missing. I am sooo excited. Tonight is Thursday but if feels like a Friday. After I work for a few hours (FROM HOME) tomorrow, Neil, Rocco, Peezy and I are jumping in the cadi and heading to Bodega Bay where the rest of my Family and I (minus Jouvan.. we will miss her) will spend the weekend camping, chilling and hanging at the beach. This is the most I have camped in a summer. This will be my 4rth camping trip and I hope to double that next year. It is just nice to get away, hike, swim, fish, make fires, bbq and spend time in the outdoors. It's pure bliss. To make things even more exciting, Neil's little brother Jace is going to go with us so he can hang out with my cousin Ariyana. They are so cute together and get a long really well so I'm sure it'll be a blast. We are going to celebrate Elliott my cousins bday while we're in Bodega Bay. So far we've got about 15 people going. My family and I celebrated Jouvan, Malcolm and Amanda's birthdays together earlier this month at Twin Lakes State Beach in Santa Cruz. Everyone in my family hooked up at the beach around 2pm and we stayed until around 10pm, as soon as the ranger gave us a hint to go!! What a shocker!!! NOT! Sike! Another bachelor contestant breaks off an engagement... I am seriously about to boycott this show. Actually I know I won't be able to resist the urge to watch the next season but I swear the fact that everyone on the show (except for one couple) breaks up makes me wonder, what happened to love? I guess one thing the show does prove and that is that you cannot fall in love and decide to spend the rest of your life with someone in the matter of weeks. its just not real. People are simply giving up on their partner too early. A relationship is a struggle, no matter what. I love my sister Jouvan but when we were growing up, we used to fight ALL THE TIME. We would say nasty things to eachother and I would sit on her and threat to spit on her face. It was nasty.. but we didn't go and divorce eachother. We just kept at it and now that we're mature our relationship is incredible and I would die for her. Marriage should be looked at kind of the same way...

The past few weeks have been amazing, especially this last week. Unfortunately I am a year older but I will take the wisdom that comes with age. I cannot believe I am only one year away from being 30. But that's a whole nother story. I am going to enjoy 29 and I have a good feeling about it, especially since I had one of the best (and longest) birthdays ever. I began the bday celebrating on Wednesday. My co-workers surprised me with a cake and gifts. It was so awesome, especially because I have really grown close with all my new coworkers. I love my job. I left work shortly after noon only to find out my car didn't start. I had to get a jump and was off, trying to make it home in time to meet everyone at the Mountain Winery for the Steel Pulse concert. The evening was great, the show was absolutely perfect. Neil's latest challenge was managing over 500 volunteers for the San Jose Grand Prix. The 3 weeks leading up to the race were insane, I saw him for maybe an hour a day. All that work paid off because the event was flawlessly executed. I am super proud of neil and here's a picture of the both of us on Race Day. Holla at ya boy!!
