Is it safe to say we're in a recession?

I for one am very happy with the turnout of yesterday's BAILOUT DENIAL!! The people have spoken and I love it. This is the first time in ages where I feel that the government actually took into consideration the public opinion, whether its because elections are right around the corner or not, I'm just very happy that the timing worked out the way it did. Why am I against the proposed bailout? Well its simple... Why should we pay over $700 billion of our money to save corporations and banks that got themselves here in the first place?? What happened to all of the money that banks collect from average every day citizens who are now left in horrible foreclosure situations, with their credit ruined and no where to turn because housing rentals and gas prices have sky rocketed? What happen to all of those service charges banks charge people for stupid shit like SPEAKING TO A PHONE REPRESENTATIVE, OVERDRAFT CHARGES, ATM CHARGES etc? What happened to all that extra cash they earned ...

Halloween 2008 is coming soon!!

Image
It's that time again!!! Halloweeen TIME!! Ooglie Booglie Time!! I love the holidays and Halloween is always special because its the first of a long streak of holidays to come. I was looking forward to today because I had asked Nini to take me to our lovely storage unit to get our holiday supplies. this was not an easy trip... For starters, we've been experiencing a heat wave (again!) in Northern california so it was hot. Plus I'm about 10 degrees hotter carrying the baby so that made it feel like 100 degrees. We dropped off all of our summer supplies, including camping gear, some beach stuff etc. It was a little sad to say goodbye to the summer but its always exciting to take out all of our Halloween, Thanksgiving and X-mas decorations. We loaded the car with the boxes of our holiday goodies after dropping off all of the summer stuff. It was so hot that I began to picture the cool weather that comes with the holidays and I got super excited. I cannot wait for our ...

2 more weeks...

Image
I have about 2 weeks left. Thought I'd share a belly shot with you guys. I am (I think) at my max. I cannot, and let's emphasize on the word CANNOT, imagine getting any bigger. There are no face shots sorry. My face is puffed. Actually, my toes, fingers and face has swollen like a puff fish: Here is a picture of my belly at 37 weeks and 4 days: Its huge. And I have yet to drop (otherwise known as lightening). The baby has shown NO SIGNS whatsoever of wanting to come out. I am in a state of misery and these past few weeks have NOT BEEN EASY. I cannot imagine having a baby right now and being pregnant in my 9th month at the same time. Every mom needs to get something... maybe a bonus tax break for carrying a baby. The government should actually pay people who get pregnant. This is NOT EASY!!! I think I might start a petition... Why is it so hard lately? Do you reallllyyyy wanna know? Let's start with the fact that you fart, get heartburn, pee and waddle like a mof...

Google Phone Home

Image
What next? Google Nailpolish? Google hotdogs? Google cars? I had figured it was only a matter of time before google would roll out a new mobile phone however I did not anticipate it would be as early as 2008. T-Mobile's G1 (in the image above) will go on sale Oct. 22 for $179. Customers are required to sign up for a 2 year service with Tmobile if they want this phone. It is the first mobile phone to run the Google operating system, Android. Android is the free software that powers the G1. Android is very important in Google's effort to make their search engine accessible on cells and PC's. Google feels that they have an untapped market estimating around $20 billion in the mobile world. How does it stand against the iPhone? The G1 features a small keyboard, a handy trackball similar to those on the crackberries, and a higher-resolution, three-megapixel camera (versus the two-megapixel camera on the iPhone). One thing about this phone that does not stand against the iPhone ...

What are you craving?

Image
"What are you craving?" this is one of the most commonly asked questions that I get when I am out and about with my baby bump. People always have a very excited and eager look on their face when they ask this question. Before, I couldn't pinpoint my cravings. I was nauseous for the first 3 months, then eating everything in sight for the past 6. I hated not being able to really call out my cravings. There have been small cravings here and there they went away after a few weeks. There had to be something that I have consistently eaten for a while now...After some serious self meditation, I know what I crave. it's 2 things. and I am obsessed with the following: Oreo's and Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches. I recall a funny story with my OREO craving. The night before my baby shower, we had a sleepover at my aunts house. it was a lot of fun and I had bought a new box of oreo cookie to eat as we watched a movie. I was laying down, alongside my cousin Aryana who ...

NY Jets - MNF

It's Monday and in the fall Monday's are spectacular. Not only is it time for MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL but its also the first day of fall which means ALL OF THE NEW TV shows will be airing starting tonight. Last week's Monday Night game was pretty awesome. The cowboys dominated (as they did lastnight) and the game was super exciting to watch. Tonight's game is the New York Jets vs the San Diego Chargers. I am a new jets fan this year because one of my most favorite players from SJSU is now a JET. Dwight Lowery is da shiznit. You guys might recall me talking about him before in the past. He was picked up in the 4rth round by the Jets and has been raising eyebrows and impressing people left and right. How did this guy end up at Cabrille Junior College??? its so wierd. Anyways, he'll be playing tonight and you guys should check him out. He's #34 ( http://www.newyorkjets.com/team/player/1337-dwight-lowery ) Peace and Happy Monday!

Soothing September Sunday

Image
It's Sunday and its another day I get to cross out as I get closer and closer to the big D-day. I thought I'd be a little more scared at this point of my pregnancy but with 22 days left, I'mfeeling ready to just go into labor. I had a false alarm on Friday which scared me a lot. I was with my mom and I swear I thought I felt a rush of sudden labor cramps. Unfortunately, it turned out to be awful gas (yes TMI: Too much information) and with the baby being all bouncy the past few days, it was probably trapped in a bad spot which made the gas feel like cramps. Gas is very common during the latter part of pregnancy and I'm sorry but I have to be real with you guys... THE GAS IS NOT COOL. I swear, its not me that's farting. it is the BABY! he jacks me up. The gas pains felt so much like real labor pains that I felt them contract! That scared my mother enough that she called Dr. Noh because we thought we might have to go to the hospital. Who knew my first false alar...

What a freaking nightmare. Our jacked up economy is getting worst day by day. I thought it had hit rock bottom a few months ago but oh no, it keeps on getting uglier. The past 13 months have been a financial nightmare for many. Gas prices, stocks, banks going bankrupt, the housing market falling flat on its ass, retailers losing millions due to the unstable economy…did I miss anything? Oh yeah, just Monday, The Dow fell 504 points. That’s the biggest daily point drop since the day the market reopened after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Were we attacked and didn’t know it on Sunday night?? I think I was bit by a mosquito! Even Starbucks started closing some stores around the nation during these times. When Starbucks starts closing, you know we’re fuc**ed. "This has been the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. There is no question about it," said Mark Gertler, a New York University economist who worked with fellow academic Ben Bernanke, now the Fe...

Golpher Poison and then some...

Image
What a weekend its been. I had my sister JoJo visit from LA and she brought up the pooches Shya and Gus Gus. The weekend was all planned out. Family party for Gina's 40th Saturday night... Some major shopping all weekend and then have the cousins (my dogs and her dogs) play till there was no tomorrow. Everything went as planned until I got a text msg from JoJo on Sunday morning saying she needed to go to the emergency vet because her doggies had gotten into Golpher poison from the backyard. Nini and I rushed and met her at the vet only to find out that the golpher poison called GolpherTox, which contains this horrible ass ingredient that can kill on impact. Zinc Phosphide, the most active ingredient is banned in most states (except of course dumbass california). The intoxication from this chemical causes central nervous system depression, labored breathing, vomiting (often of blood), weakness, convulsions and death. There is no specific antidote. To make matter...

The Nesting Bug during the third trimester has BIT me.

Image
I am full on feeling one of the most common pregnancy symptoms called NESTING. When I first heard about it from my friend A, I was like, oh that's interesting but most likely manageable. Yeah Right. I cannot stop cleaning, organizing, rearranging anything and everything that comes my way. I have become obsessively compulsive about all kinds of things I could have cared less about before and to top it off, doing all this stuff makes me feel like crap physically by the end of the day. For those of you who've never been *blessed* by pregnancy, let me give you an example. I was in our bedroom the other night and I asked Nini to help me. He came over to me and said Whats up. I told him that I didn't like how our bedframe didn't hit the wall. There was a 2 inch gap between the bed and the wall and it bothered me. I told him I needed his help moving the bed and pushing it up against the wall. he looked at me like I was crazy. not only was it midnight but he was dumbfo...

cool new tv show - fringe

Image
Last night FOX aired a new show called FRINGE. The previews looked good and I was impressed by the creators, J.J. Abrams ("Lost"), Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the team behind "Star Trek," "Mission: Impossible III" and "Alias". Let's just say that the show was nothing I expected and it totally blew me away. I loved it. The 1 hour 25 minute episode was action packed and had a story-line that moved at a perfect pace (not all slow like LOST). So much happened in the first episode and best of all, it wasn't cheesy. Since I'm bound to the house so much these days I am thrilled to have found a new TV show to obsess over. Going to Madarjoon's house

I love my madarjoon. Not only is she the roots and foundation of my family but she can cook a mean persian meal. Tonight, my beautiful grandmother has decided to make me my favorite persian soup, Ashe Reshteh. YUM! My mom also pitched in and made kotlet. I am about to head over and feast like a queen. I'm serious. being this far along in my pregnancy, it's rare that many activities excite you. Everything is very exhausting except for one thing.. and that's eating. I have been craving persian food a lot during the past 8 months and I look forward to indulging tonight. In other news, I just wrapped up watching the new 90210 show. It was pretty insane seeing the show I grew up with and watching the intro with the same exact song... seeing the peach pit and all that was kinda cool too. The show was mediocre but it'll be fun to watch. When the OC ended I was pretty sad so i'm hoping to get into this show and have even decided to take up Gossip Girl. TV has been...

96 degrees in the shade... real hot! in the shade

The title of this post is from a reggae song I love... sang by THIRD world and just perfect for this heat wave that has decided to pound the northern california coast. 90 degrees in SF! Are you kidding me? That is just unheard of. As a woman who's feeling 10 degrees hotter than most non-pregger woman, I am not comfortable at all in this injustice they call heat wave. I've been confined to my home, AC on full blast, just trying to stay sane as everyone around me lives an active life. I may try to go for a swim at our pool this weekend but I'm still afraid of wearing a pregger bikini. It just looks funni. Well enjoy your weekend. Stay COOL!!!

Chromed Out... the New Google Chrome Browser

I recently installed the new google CHROME browser. I was a bit hesitant but with everyone that google does, I am a bit curious and had to try it out. I must say, I LOVE IT. It's incredibly fast and the skin is very simple and clean. There are plenty of bugs (they should have hired me for QA) and I think those bugs will work themselves out once they release their main version. I am testing out the beta so bugs are expected. Some of my favorite features: Crash Control: rather than have the entire browser (and all your tabs) crash, the Chrome browser only crashes the problematic tab content, not the entire application. This is sweet. Easy bookmarking Same commands as Firefox and IE make transition to chrome easy Tab dragging - very cool New tab page contains most frequently visited pages in modules. Love how you can just click on one and be in the page.... My recommendation is that you download Chrome and play with it. You may find yourself launching it more than you did your pr...

TV is sucking right now

Image
I know the fall TV lineup is right around the corner but television as it stands SUCKS!! As I am getting larger, rounder and having more difficulties moving around, I have been finding myself more and more confined to the couch and I swear I am having the HARDEST time sitting still because there is NOTHING to watch. What gives!! Everything is either a rerun or a reality show that I could careless about. Renting movies is also getting a little on the weak side. Maybe its my ADD kicking in during the last few weeks of my pregnancy but I'm BORED! Plain and Simple. I can't fathom sitting on the couch but moving around isn't all that great either. I think about going out and doing stuff but the idea of it, while spectacular, does not work with my achiness and fatigue. I only work (actually commute to SF) twice a week and those days are beginning to get rough. By the time I get home, my feet are swollen like SHREK. Driving for 2.5 hours doesn't feel good on my back either...

Belly Photo Op - 3D Ultrasound

Image
Nini and I recently went to have 3d/4d ultrasounds taken of our little bundle of joy. The appointment was interestingly pleasant, especially because our baby was facing the right way and cooperating for most of the 20 minute tummy analysis. Below are 3 pictures that I have chosen to share... There were about 60+ pics but a lot of them end up looking the same so once you see one or two, you've seen them all. Both of us were really (and surprisingly) excited when we saw his little ooglie booglie face. I couldn't believe that I was staring at the face of my son, as he lay in my tummy. There is just something surreal about that moment. After getting past the overall amazement of this 3d ultrasound technology, I was able to lay back and just enjoy the moments. I held Nini's hand and we watched our boy blow kisses and squirm around. He slept the entire time but I figured he would because he was up rolling around in my belly until about 2am the night prior. I just hit my 34t...
