Heath Ledger (1979 - 2008)

Image
When I learned of Heath Ledger's death I was in shock. I had always admired him as an actor, especially in his most recent film 'Brokeback Mountain'... a movie that had me so captivated I wanted to have my wedding in Wyoming. His death has stunned the world and his early departure has left those of us who grew up watching his movies asking 'How'. I just saw some quotes from his mother, father and older sister... The quotes were just sooooo freaking sad. I cannot imagine the grief and pain their feeling right now and I only hope that the media gives them their privacy as they mourn the loss of such a great individual...I look forward to seeing his last completed performance in the 'Dark Knight', the latest Batman flick where Heath plays Jocker like you've never seen. It will be a sad/happy time because we get a chance to see him in a new film and get to relive his being but at the same time, when the movie is over, it'll seem like the goodbye is p...

Movies and more...Cloverfield and Juno

TV sucks lately. I mean when I get home the last thing on my mind is turning on the tube. Shows have been so shitty! What the heck dude. One of my favorite shows 'criminal minds' has gone to poop because the new writers are just awful. I think I could write better scripts!! Due to the lack of interesting television programming, I've turned to watching movies. I rarely ever watched movies on work nights, mostly because I'd always fall asleep in the middle of it and would always leave the movie half-finished. Neil has a thing where he can't fall asleep in the middle of a movie so he always finishes them which totally sucks because I hate watching movies with people who have already seen it. I know I'm weird but that bugs me. Just this week, I got to see 2 movies that are getting a lot of hype in the press. My hyphy ass loves hype so I wanted to share my opinion on the movies with my readers.... The following reviews are for CloverField and Juno. Let's make...

MLK - Day Off Thanks to Him :)

Image
Intuit never got Martin Luther King day off so now that I'm with Real Networks, I'm enjoying a day off although I'm sick and still feeling like crap. I have spent the last week sick as a dog. The worst flu I've had ever. My voice, my chest, my body, everything hurt. The hardest thing was that I couldn't talk and those that know me know its a hard thing for me not to do. I am doing better today but not that great. Whatever. Flu's suck. The weather is rainy today and it gives me an excuse to stay indoors and do some wedding planning. This weekend has been a wedding extravaganza. On Saturday, Neil and I drove to Sonora where Neil's mom Linda had planned a small engagement dinner for us with their entire family. The dinner was fantastic although according to Neil I sounded like 'Darth Vadar'. My voice was really bad and I didn't feel good but it was important that we went and met with everyone. Everyone was very happy for us and it was nice ...

Hoodie Hoo...

Life as a fiance has been remarkable. Well nothing major has changed between my home life besides that fact that Neil looks at my ring 10 times a day and that I have a pile of bridal/wedding magazines on my coffee table. I've been sick the past couple of days but I've been getting a lot of sweeti emails and phone calls from friends and family alike congratulating Neil and myself on our engagement. After seven years of dating, Neil and I are official. It's pretty incredible looking back on our life thus far together, especially the last 4 years. Ever since we moved in with eachother, I realized that we make a great team. As life's experiences have challenged us over the years, we've remained strong and maintained a trustworthy and loving relationship. All ingredients to a long lasting bond. I am so excited to have a wedding to celebrate our togetherness and have all of our family and friends be a witness the beginning of a life long adventure. The thought of tha...

ENGAGED AND LOVING LIFE!!!!

This is my way of screaming out at the top of my lungs "I LOVE NEIL PARRY and I AM SOOO EXCITED TO BE HIS WIFIE!!!" Last night, Neil Parry proposed to me over dinner on what was the most well planned and top secret mission ever. After the shock set in, I said yes and I can honestly say that I feel like I am the happiest and luckiest person on earth right now. Here are photo's from my night... good thing i have pictures because most of the evening was a blur due to shock :)

New Hair...

Image
I have done it yet again. Chopped off my hair. Short. Shorter than I've ever had it (I'm not counting the horrible boy cut I got when I was 8) I don't have a pic with me since I just got my haircut LASTNIGHT at 7pm but its a HUGE change. HUGE. I am not sure why I chose to cut it... All month long I had been toying with the thought of growing my hair long again. My hair was Super Dupa long last year... Like almost hitting my elbows. Now, its up to my ears. I found a picture of Katie Holmes where her hair looks very similar to mine so you can get an idea of how short my new bob is... Mine may be a tad bit shorter but you get the jist of it. I'm at work and no one is here yet so the only person to have seen my hair is Neil, my hair stylist Kien at Umbrella AND my vet because I dropped off Peezy there this morning for some treatment on his leg. Neil's reaction last night was hilarious. I walked in the door and he was like Oh wow! and he was quiet and then he said he lov...

My early morning post....

Its early however I am not working today. All for good reason... a very close member of our family friends has passed away and today is the funeral service for her. She was a very young lady and left the world all too soon. It is going to be a rough day as this is only the 2nd funeral I've been too. In fact, my very close friend since I was a child, Nima... who is like a brother to me will be there. The deceased is his aunt and they were extremely close. I hope today's ceremony is beautiful and that her departure to a amazing place is grand. Fariba Lighvani Fariba Lighvani Fariba passed away at the age of 42. She is survived by her parents Manouchehr and Jahanara, her loving sister Soheila, her brother-in-law Shahbaz and her nephew Nima. She will live on in the hearts of her family, her many friends and colleagues, whose lives she has touched over the years. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winches...

Rainy Nose....

Image
Rainy weather and Runny noses go together like peanut butter and jelly. I like to call this famous pair a Rainy nose. So that's what I got going today. Unbelievably, I woke up at noon today. Literally woke up and it was 12:10pm. I don't think I've slept in this late in ages. When I awoke, I was greeted with a runny nose and a headache. I was sick. Sicko Sunday for me. I've been on the couch ALL day, and every so often I had these insane sneeze attacks where I'd go through 4-5 tissues. it was shitty. Neil took care of me most of the day but nothing is better than having your mom around. I called my mommy around 4pm and she came over tonight with chicken soup and some awesome humidifier thingie. I swear to god she is awesome. I felt a thousand times better when she took care of me. Nothing beats a momma's touch. My weekend was not all that bad though. I began my weekend Friday doing some MAJOR cool shit. I went to target and cost plus. WooHoo, now I'm...

Peezy Problems

Image
The new year got off to a rocky start... Poor lil' Peezy. On New Years Eve, Neil and I noticed a big sore developing on Peezy's leg just above his cast. We thought nothing of it. We kept his head funnel on more than usual so that he's stop licking it. Anyways, the next day, Jan 1st, the smell of his leg was awful. Infections typically carry a foul odor with them and we assumed it was coming from the open sore on his leg. We chose to wait until his vet opened (today) to take him in. Low and behold, I get a call from the vet saying that his entire leg was covered in a blood and was infected under his cast. WTF!!! I was really calm when I spoke to the doctor and when I hung up, I was pretty upset. How could this happen? To make things worste, when I went to pick up Peezy, the doctor teased me because NEIL sold me out and told her I was crying! I looked like the biggest wimp! so mad. Well they cleaned his leg up and taped it all up. Now, we have to take him back again on Friday...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year everyone. 2008 the year of the Ratatouille is going to be great! I just know it!! It'll be great for you too. I have a feeling. 2008 is also a leap year. Crazy. If you're preggers, aim for Feb 29th!!! The next time the year of the Rat will occur, according to the chinese calendar, is in 2020 so enjoy this one. I will call this year Ratatouille. There are lots of fun things planned for 2008, the biggest event being that Mars may be struck by an asteroid on January 30th!! Scientist said there's a 1 in 25 chance it may happen. Crazy. Also, don't forget, the Superbowl will take place on Feb 3rd. March is also an interesting month. Not only is it PERSIAN new year time, but the Iranian Parliament election takes place on March 18th, 2008. Another really cool thing for us who live in the Bay Area is March 28th... that is the first day of MLS soccer action and now that the earthquakes are back, we can all enjoy it a little more. Other sad events that will take pla...
